These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of stmtify (the “Service”), a tool that converts bank-statement PDFs into Excel and CSV files entirely within your web browser. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
stmtify reads a PDF you choose and extracts its transactions into a spreadsheet. All processing happens locally in your browser — your statement files are never uploaded to, or stored on, our servers. We do not see, transmit, or retain the contents of your documents.
2. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- process documents you do not have the right to access or convert;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or overload the Service or its infrastructure;
- use the Service to violate any applicable law or third-party rights.
3. Accuracy & your responsibility
The Service uses automated text extraction and optical character recognition (OCR), which may be imperfect — particularly for scanned or low-quality documents. Extracted data may contain errors or omissions. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying every output before relying on it. The Service is an extraction aid and is not a substitute for professional accounting, tax, financial, or legal advice.
4. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us and protected by applicable laws. The documents you process and the spreadsheets you generate remain yours; we claim no ownership over them.
5. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of results. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that extracted data will be complete or correct.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of — or inability to use — the Service.
7. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
